Ericom has been established in year 2001 as the main technical partner of Ericsson
Business Comm. Sys. Distributor which serves wireless telecommunication systems,
call center solutions and PBX system solutions to its existing clients of Ericsson.
On 2002, Ericom built up a collaboration with China based Coslight Storage Battery
Co and joined the Turkey`s market together and provided VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead
Acid) batteries to the base station of GSM operators and became the region distributor
of Coslight.
After 2005, PBX and IP telephony with the sales of batteries became the biggest
income of Ericom. The positive feedback from Telsim created an awareness of Turkcell
and Turkcell decided to add Coslight batteries to its product portfolio. Sales of
VRLA Batteries to Turkcell on 2010 was the biggest item in Ericom`s turnover.
Common research and development protocols are established to create solution for
Telco operators with Istanbul Technical University Energy Institute since 2008.
Ericom has revised its strategy on Telco market by focusing on three main segments.
First of all, the main target is to be the ‘Energy Storage Solution Provider” instead
of staying as a boxmover.
Second focus is collaboration and preliminary studies on ‘Energy Telemetry’ area
on 2009 has helped to gain a valuable expertise to replace Vodafone`s Analog Electrical
Meters with digital ones and remote reading on its base stations around 1000 site.
The number of the sites are expanded on 2010 and increased to 4000 site. Ericom
has conducted this project on 2010-2011
